About The Program

Xavier School of Management has introduced Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at XLRI in India, 2018 to train prospective scholars to become highly skilled and innovative researchers and teachers in various aspects of management.

  • A Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) with the Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) obtained after a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent,
  • Five years/four years Integrated Master's Degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates), obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
  • BE/B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) with 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • A professional qualification like CA, ICWA or CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates)
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE

Terms and Conditions

Fellowship:

  • Fellow students are awarded a fellowship of INR 25,000/- per month during 1st and 2nd year and INR 30,000/- per month for the next two years in addition to tuition waiver, to cover living cost and other expenses. Fellowship will be paid only to full-time residential students for a maximum period of four years and no extensions will be provided. From the third year, a student may work as a Research and Teaching Assistant (RTA), for which INR 30,000 per course will be paid extra.
  • A fellow student is entitled to a contingency grant of INR 25,000 per annum for four years and a grant of INR 20,000 for Data Collection during the third year.

Area of Specialization:

At the time of applying for admission, a candidate is required to choose his/her area of specialization for the purpose of the thesis. A student can pursue research in the following areas:

  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Human Resource Management
  • Information Systems
  • Marketing
  • Organizational Behaviour
  • Production, Operations & Decision Sciences
  • Strategic Management

A student is permitted to change the area of research only with the permission of FPM Committee. The FPM Committee may require the student to do some more courses suitable for the changed research area as the condition for such a change.
